"It is perhaps with Dalí that for the first time the windows of the mind are opened fully wide". Paul Eluard, Surrealist Poet

Welcome to the fantastic mind of Salvador Dalí! This Friday 9th July 2021 the exhibition “Salvador Dalí, A Journey into Fantasy” will be inaugurated at the Herzliya Arena Mall shopping center, in Herzliya, a modern town situated 16kms north of Tel Aviv, in Israel.

The exhibition will be presented by Hadran in collaboration with the Dalí Universe and curated by Beniamino Levi, President of the Dalí Universe.

Around one hundred authentic Salvador Dalí works, including sculptures of various sizes, illustrations, glassworks, furniture, and the universal “Tarot”, will be exhibited in the spaces of the Herzliya Arena Mall shopping center, which overlooks the Herzliya Marina.

The centrepiece of the exhibition will be the monumental-sized sculpture “Nobility of Time”, conceived by Salvador Dalí in 1977, which occupies an important place in the Dalinian Universe.

The classic Dalinian symbol of time takes centre stage in this sculpture. Dalí's soft watch is draped against a tree whose roots entwine a stone. The watch is stretched, its malleable form seems to take the shape of the tree.

The theme of the passing of time deeply troubled Dalí, who stated: "The mechanical object was to become my worst enemy, and as for watches, they would have to be soft, or not be at all”.

The exhibition inside the Herzliya Arena Mall shopping center will present a selection of museum-size works of the Dalí Universe Collection that Mr. Beniamino Levi started collecting in the Seventies, following his meeting with Salvador Dalí. Amongst them the “Space Elephant”, the “Persistence of Memory” and “Saint George and the Dragon”.

Amongst the Daum artworks, one of the most interesting collections in the world of coloured glass sculptures, coming from the artistic collaboration between Dalí and the prestigious French glassmakers Daum Cristallerie, the visitors to the exhibition can admire “Anti-Fleur”, “Cyclope” and “Oeil de Pâques”.

The spectacular artistic creativeness of Salvador Dalí can also be admired through the visit of the painted series of universal “Tarots” that Dalí created with the collage, watercolour, and gouache technique in the Seventies; and the extraordinary illustrations that the artist of Surrealism created during his lifetime.

The visitors to the exhibition “Salvador Dalí, A Journey into Fantasy” will be invited to celebrate the genius of Surrealism within the exhibition itinerary, the man who said: “Painting is an infinitely minute part of my personality”, thus obtaining an all-round perception of the Catalan artist. It will be an extraordinary journey into the fantastic mind of Salvador Dalí!

The exhibition “Salvador Dalí, A Journey into Fantasy” will be open until Saturday 2nd October 2021.
