Beniamino Levi, President of the Dalí Universe, is proud to present to the public an exhibition  of Salvador Dalí sculptural artworks dedicated to the subject of ‘Time’.

Visitors and clients of PISA Orologeria in Via Verri, 7, Milan, will be able to admire amongst some of the most important Dalí sculptures created exclusively with precious metals,  gold, silver and bronze.

Beniamino Levi, one of the greatest collectors of Dalí’s artworks has focused on the relationship between the measurement of time (watches-clocks) and the way in which time is represented ( Dalí’s soft watches) offering an exhibition of sculptural artworks of the Catalan master at PISA Orologeria Milan flagship store.

The exhibition will be set up by the Dalí Universe in collaboration with PISA Orologeria and Dalí’s artworks will be displayed alongside  watches offered by the PISA family in one unique show.

Soft watches are nothing more than paranoiac critical camembert, soft, extravagant and unique in space and time”. ( Salvador Dalí)

These words are by Dalí, one of the most important artists of the twentieth century. He was the first artist to bring to sculpture the idea of the unconsciousness of the human mind, transforming thoughts into three-dimensional images and surreal visions.

The illustrating of Time through the soft-watch sculptures was  one the most genial intuitions of Dalí; it is almost impossible to find other artists in history who have known how to condense in one artwork such a difficult  and complex subject as Time.

At the exhibition Dalí Universe at PISA Orologeria, the visitor can admire both watches (as time keepers) and soft watches ( illustrators of time). The sculptural artworks have as their surroundings the interior of the elegant early nineteenth century palazzo, home to the flagship store PISA Orologeria

At the end of exhibition, the visitor has the opportunity to explore further the concept of Dalínian time. Outside the store, the monumental sculpture ‘ Nobility of Time’ will be placed in Piazza San Babila.

This monumental sculpture was especially chosen, as it embodies  fluidly the symbolism of Time. In the ‘Nobility of Time’ sculpture, the theme of regality is illustrated by Dalí’s use of the crown atop the watch.

Chiara Pisa, President of Pisa Orologeria comments, ‘Being able to decorate the square with a sculptural  artwork makes a strong visual impact. Exhibiting a monumental sculpture in Piazza San Babila makes it possible to involve Milan  city and the Milanese’.

The artworks displayed inside PISA Orologeria, offer an insight into Dalí’s complex and polyhedral personality, using an array of bronze sculpture of which ‘Dance of Time I, II and III’, ‘Nobility of Time’, ‘Profile of Time’, ‘Woman of Time’, are just some examples.

The jeweled sculpture collection with precious stones, diamonds, rubies, and the collection of Dalí d’Or are also on display.

The Dalí silver sculptures are being presented for the first time in Italy during this exhibition.

The exhibition ‘Dalí Universe at Pisa Orologeria’ will be inaugurated on 5th December 2017, and is open till January 31st, 2018. Mr Beniamino Levi, President of the Dalí Universe will be present at the opening ceremony along with Maristella and Chiara Pisa, President and General Director, respectively of PISA Orologeria.

Chiara Pisa comments, ‘we are delighted to host Dalí artworks at our flagship store and thus continue our ongoing project of hosting exhibitions  which promote art and the concept of Time, with one of the greatest artists of all time, and his famous soft watches.
