Art New York returns for its fourth edition during May, offering artworks from 95 International galleries from over 30 countries.
Art New York, presented by Art Miami, returns to Pier 94 in New York from Thursday May 4th til Sunday May 6th. It features Contemporary, modern, post-war and pop art. Pier 94 is New Yorks premier trade show venue located in West Manhattan of West 53rd Street.
Art New York features artworks from important artists such as David Hockney, Jean Michel Basquiat, Pablo Picasso, Marc Chagall. Andy Warhol, Damien Hirst, Keith Haring, Ed Ruscha, and of course, Salvador Dalí .
Amongst the exhibiting galleries is Hazelton Fine Art from Toronto, Canada. Hazelton will have on show a number of sculptures from the Dalí Universe, including several iconic artworks; Profile of Time, Space Elephant and Space Venus. These classic Dalí bronze sculptures, embody some of the Catalan masters favorite subjects, including melted clocks, elephants, and the female form.
Dalí of course has a long history in New York, he used to spend winters at the opulent St Regis hotel during the‘60s and 70’s. Dalì and Gala spent eight years in the city from 1940-1948 in exile from the Second World War in Europe.
More than seventy years later, Dalí is back in New York!
